Day 2 in Shanghai

After breakfast we wandered up through the French Concession to the Yuyuan bazaar and then through the gardens. Unfortunately, the Bund, the most popular tourist destination in Shanghai is completely closed off due to major reconstruction in anticipation of Shanghai hosting Expo 2010. But we still took the pedestrian tunnel from the Bund to the Pudong side of the river. There we went up the Oriental Pearl Tower for a great view of the city and to the interesting Shanghai Municipal History Museum at the Tower's base. Took a cab back to the hotel and now we're relaxing for a bit before dinner. Loving Shanghai - such a fun, accessible, easy-to-get-around, friendly place.

I'll try attaching a bunch of photos:
- Kate, with Starbucks in hand, wandering through a market street
- Me heading into the Yuyuan bazaar
- Me at the Yuyuan gardens
- Pudong area in 1994
- Pudong area in 2007, showing the massive construction that has transpired
