We arrived in Nanchang at 3:45 and got to the Gloria Grand Hotel by 4:30pm. As we were pulling into the hotel, our guide Helen called the orphanage contact to set up a meeting time. But they were already waiting for us in the hotel lobby!! Aaaughaaa!! So we walked into the hotel and they put Zoë right into my arms. Kate was so overwhelmed that we have about a 10 minute video that will require some serious editing before we can get it into postable size. I was too overwhelmed to listen to anything that the orphanage staff was saying.
And of course, she's perfect. She snuggled right into my arms at first contact. Grabbing my mouth and nose with a death-grip. She came up to the room with us happily and subsequently got fussy every time Kate disappeared out of her sight. We gave her a bottle and a bath and lots of cuddles. Apparently her normal bedtime is 8:30pm but she was so wiped that she dropped off to sleep just as we were trying to phone home at 7pm. And she's been sleeping soundly since then (2 hours ago).
She has a bit of a sniffle and had the chicken pox last month so still has some scabs to show for it. But otherwise she seems in good health. And she's lovely and fantastic. And ours. We're pinching ourselves. I'll post some photos in a subsequent posting.

She's beautiful! Congratulations! I've been checking your blog every day, sometimes twice, to see pictures of the big moment. I'm sure your family is ecstatic!
