Kid-Free Vacation?!?!

Kate and I are heading to Vancouver in a couple of hours.... alone! My parents are here to look after the kids while we hang out in Lotus Land for 9 days. Wow, grandparents of the year award!

Here are a couple of October photos to leave you with.

- Zoë The Ham

- Last swims of the year, in freezing October water. I finally took the dock out of the lake today.

- Hockey season has begun. Here are Jacob and Molly all geared up

Onto September

Is my blogging going to improve once I've caught up and therefore have time to do more reflective posts, commenting on the more interesting conversations and minutiae of our lives. History would say no.

- First day of school. Twins in SK, Zoë at Montessori

- Zoë squeezing into the SK photo

- And the 2nd day of school too

- Kate's first 70.3 (Half Ironman) in Muskoka. She was complete awesomeness!

 - We figured one week of school was enough. So we took off to Thunder Bay for a week.

- Some of Papa's haul from his vegetable garden

- Up on top of Rabbit Mountain, eating well-earned treats

- baking with Grandma

- Out to camp

- And back in Orillia, here we are hiking in the Langman Conservation area

Family Camp

Last week of the summer, we went to YLCC for Family Camp, with the Whites, Housers, Frenchs, and lots of new friends. Each family had a bunkhouse. Activities for the kids during the day. Campfires at night. It was a perfect way to end the summer.

- Jacob and Benjamin preparing for the 3-legged race

- Zoë chowing down in the mess hall

- Molly and Levon hanging out outside the dance

- Attacking their poor counsellor on the dance floor

August Catch-Up

Lots of swimming, trampolining, beaching, and triathloning in August.

- The twins mastered the swim to and from the trampoline, without flotation devices

- Zoë had a tough time going to bed with a babysitter. So Jacob insisted on making her a paper mama and baba to bring to bed with her. Best brother ever.

 - Getting ready for Zoë's first triathlon. Put on by our friend Melissa for a bunch of friends.

 - Watching a movie with Grammy

- Peekaboo with Grandpapa

 - Trampoline with Grammy

- A rare photo of me on the blog. Heading to the beach.

- Zoë goofing around in her swim lesson

- end of summer visit to the Odlozinski cottage, with the Whites

- passed out after a fun weekend
